Professional Experience

Mr. Carlos Campos founded Hope St. and Hope Street Funding; and oversees the company’s Real Estate & Lending (REL) operations. Where he assist clients with acquisitions or dispositions of residential luxury, or commercial real estate assets and finances those assets. Carlos also specializes in originating specific commercial real estate and debt. 

As the Managing Director and 10+ years of experience, Carlos holds solid understanding of joint ventures, real estate partnerships, developments, real estate, loan products, loan structuring, loan structuring for self-employed borrowers and owner users, real estate valuation, real estate management and debt.

Carlos has worked in partnership with real estate companies, wholesale lenders, middle market banks, and broker/realtor partners since 2003. He knows site selection, industry trends, the price per square foot on nearly all markets within Southern California and can spot opportunities that most experienced investors or brokers can't. He's an avid content maker on LinkedIn, and throughit he advises CEO's, Presidents, Managing Directors and Executives across credit, lending, and real estate trends and best practices.

Blessed with this vision for opportunities and propensity for risk; Carlos founded several businesses ranging from Residential Mortgage Lending, Capital Markets Lending, CRE/Industrial Real Estate Brokerage, M&A, Off-Market Acquisitions, Business Consulting businesses, and the latest venture is Hope Street Funding & Realty, and Hope St. (Vertical Real Estate Venture and Real Estate Development Firm) established to serve clients in the luxury real estate market and to help owners preserve and magnify their wealth through real estate investments, divestments, development and ownership. 

Carlos’s career in real estate and entrepreneurship began in banking where he grew his career in lending operations at Bank of America, Chase Bank, then Bank of the West. Most recently, he worked for Pacific Premier Bank as VP of New Construction- Carlos oversaw luxury spec-build construction, bridge loans and construction loan underwriting. He oversaw $400M in construction loans and $850 million in asset values. Carlos's now provides these financial products with better service, quicker turn times, and overall lower cost than traditional middle market banks. Pre-SAFE laws, as a broker and salespersons Carlos  brokered loans with industry giants like Countrywide Bank, Bank of America, Long Beach Mortgage, Downey Savings, World Savings, Plaza Home Mortgage, Freemont Bank- Carlos sold various loans from Agency to Hard money loans. 

Carlos’s real estate experience is complete with leverage and real estate brokerage knowledge (Residential, CRE, Apartment,  Construction, Multi Family, Luxury Sales, and Portfolio/Property Management experience). Where most executives in the industry only see one or two areas, Carlos’s knowledge is thorough and complete with multiple areas and disciplines. 

Education

Carlos graduated from Syracuse University: Martin J. Whitman, School of Management where he earned an MBA in Investment Finance; concentrated on Portfolio Risk Management and completed a second concentration in Entrepreneurship, tailored on Disruptive Entrepreneurship. He participated in The Real Estate Club, Finance Club, and Entrepreneurship Club. Carlos and two of his business ideas were also accepted into Couri Hatchery, the universities incubator program.

Carlos graduated from CSU Dominguez Hills, with a Bachelor of Science and degree in Business Finance. During his time at the CSU system, he was recommended to (Former) Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger by lead faculty to the student trustee role for the Board of Trustees with the CSU Board of Trustees that oversee the 23 CSU schools in California. 

Post Bachelors: he created his first startup, this experience led him to create an industrial real estate brokerage firm centered on off-market listings. Carlos sourced over $2B in off-market transactions for real estate developers, landlords, and owner users in the Southern California market.
